Data lifecycle

Deletion and disconnection

Customers control their Home Audit record through authenticated export, institution-disconnection, and permanent-deletion tools in the private workspace.

Effective September 5, 2026

Disconnect one institution

Choose Disconnect beside an institution in My Audit. Sclerite requests removal of the Plaid Item, revokes continued access, and deletes the imported snapshots for that connection. Other institutions and the billing record are not affected.

Delete the household record

Choose Delete my data and enter the displayed confirmation phrase. The operation first revokes every Plaid connection. Only after disconnection succeeds does it delete the household profile, consent, answers, financial snapshots, and reports. This fail-safe prevents local deletion from hiding a connection that remained active.

What may remain

Billing, refund, tax, fraud-prevention, and transaction records may remain when required by law or legitimate operational obligations. They are de-linked from the deleted household where practical. A minimal deletion receipt contains a one-way owner hash, completion time, and number of disconnected institutions, but no financial payload.

Identity and support

Workspace deletion requires sign-in so one person cannot delete another household’s records. If you cannot access the workspace, email privacy@scleritehomeaudit.com from the account address. Support will verify the request before taking action. Do not send financial documents or credentials by email.

Current availability

The deletion controls and audit trail are active for live customer workspaces. Provider revocation must succeed before local records are removed.
